The simple hash brownie needs no introduction. Everyone knows it or has at least heard of it. If you want to consume weed as an edible, this is the entry point into tasty enjoyment.
If you want to indulge in the sweet, chocolatey high, you're in the right place. Since you don’t exactly have a Dutch coffeeshop around the corner, we’ll show you how to easily get your hands on hash brownies. Homemade!
Because today we're showing you the ultimate and also easiest way to bake weed brownies.
The advantage of homemade weed baked goods is not only that they taste better, but also that you have full control over how much weed actually ends up in your brownies. This recipe uses 4 grams of cannabis but also works if you decide to use less. So you can mix the brownies entirely according to your personal needs.
x Baking mix from Dr. Oetker – American Style Brownies
x 100ml neutral cooking oil of your choice (e.g. sunflower oil) (our secret tip: coconut oil)
x 3 medium eggs
x 50 ml milk
x 4 grams of cannabis (adjust as needed)
Before you throw your entire bud into the Dr. Oetker brownie mix, wait a second. To unlock the full potential of cannabis in edibles, we first need to decarboxylate it.
Decarboxylation sounds pretty heavy at first. But it simply means we have to heat your weed to activate its psychoactive effects. Think: a joint wouldn’t get anyone high if you didn’t light it. The easiest method to decarboxylate your cannabis for edibles is using a water bath. (Also shown in the video below)
With this recipe, you can bake 16 weed brownies. Even though they are tasty, we don't recommend eating more than one at a time. Edibles affect everyone differently. So take it easy the first time and increase from there.
Be patient—brownies are often sneaky and take a while to kick in. Don’t be too hasty and definitely not too quick to reach for a second brownie. With edibles, it can take up to 90 minutes before the effects set in and the high kicks in. The time it takes for the brownie to work often depends on how much you've eaten beforehand. Be aware that brownies are not a substitute for real food.
