Ingredients:
Preparation:
01. Grind the cannabis
Finely ground cannabis is important so the THC can be better released from the buds.
A regular grinder works best, but a mortar and pestle or a sharp knife will do as well.
02. Put butter in a pot
This step is hard to mess up. The butter will be used later in the decarboxylation process to bind the THC with the fat.
03. Melt the butter
Use low heat to gently melt the butter.
04. Mix with water
Add warm water in equal parts to the melted butter and mix well.
05. Add cannabis
Add the ground cannabis to the butter and water mixture. Stir thoroughly.
06. Simmer on low heat
Heat the mixture at approximately 70 °C for 2–3 hours. The butter must not boil,
as THC starts to evaporate at 90 °C. Stir occasionally and make sure the liquid doesn’t get too hot.
07. Strain the mixture
Remove the cannabis plant matter—it’s no longer needed, as the butter now contains the THC.
08. Refrigerate the butter
After a few hours in the fridge, the butter should solidify and be ready to use.
